Key Responsibilities
· Perform daily field observations and inspections of ongoing construction work.
· Verify that work is performed in accordance with the contract documents, approved submittals, and applicable codes/standards.
· Prepare clear, accurate daily reports, photo logs, and observation records.
· Identify, document, and track deficiencies, non-conforming work, and quality issues.
· Coordinate and observe special inspections and material testing as required.
· Support development and tracking of punch lists and closeout items.
· Monitor contractor means and methods for basic safety compliance and report concerns.
· Maintain organized field files and support document control processes.
· Communicate observations and issues promptly to the Project Engineer/Construction Manager and coordinate with contractors as directed.
· Assist with quantity verification, progress measurement, and change order support when requested.
· Participate in site meetings, coordination walks, and progress reviews as needed.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
· 3+ years of construction field experience, with at least 1–2 years in an inspection, quality control, or construction representative role.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail in documentation.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic familiarity with construction management software.
· Valid driver’s license and ability to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
· Physical ability to walk project sites, climb ladders/scaffolding as needed, and work outdoors for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience on federal, state, municipal, or large commercial/institutional projects.
· Certifications such as ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician, ICC, or other relevant inspection credentials.
· Prior experience with daily reports, deficiency tracking, and photo documentation.
· Familiarity with Hawaii construction practices, local agencies, and permitting processes.
· Experience supporting quality assurance/quality control programs.

Pay
· Starting salary $80K+ (DOE)
